Robert "Bob" Titus, co-publisher of P & D Magazine and Go-West died on January 1, 1996 of complications following surgery for pancreatic cancer.
Titus was actively involved in the trucking industry most of his life. Born in Berkeley, he attended public schools in Oakland and San Leandro. Bob learned much from his father who worked in the trucking and container business before joining with Peterbilt Motors as a sales representative.
He joined the staff of the California Trucking Association and Motor Transport Management Group (MTMG) in the late 1980's. Besides being general manager of MTMG, he served as associate editor of Go-West and P & D Magazines. Together with Tom Schumacher he created Motor Transport Publishers, purchased P & D Magazine and was licensed to publish Go-West.
His
calm expertise and steady manner will surely be missed.
