STATE  GRANT  TO COVER  TRUCKING SCHOOL  TUITION

Future Trucking Professionals of Redding, CA, recently began to
participate in a state-funded program that is attractive to both
trucking company employers and prospective drivers.  The grant program
is designed for individuals who currently receive unemployment benefits,
or who have qualified to receive unemployment within the last 24
months.

For those applicants who qualify, the grant will cover all of the
tuition costs for attending the truck driver training course.  The 8
week and 4 week classes offered by Future Trucking Professionals have
been approved for state funding.  According to Tami Boone, owner of
Future Trucking Professionals, “The response has been overwhelming.  We
took out an ad in the newspaper, and received 20 applications within the
first week.”  The grant-for-tuition program is a great concept, as it
addresses both unemployment and the driver shortage in California.  For
