IMPORTANT MEMO TO ALL PILOTS

Caltrans has just announced that effetive immediately, the 3 AM movement policy is
extended to include Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays! Here are the details:
1) Loads up to 14'0" wide (14'6" for qualified construction equipment),
135'0" long, up to bonus purple weight, and unlimited height*.
2) The move must start on a green or yellow route on the pilot car map, but may conclude
on any route, provided that the origin is a sufficient distance away, so as to arrive on
the non-yellow or green route only during the daylight hours.
3) Saturday, Sunday & Holiday movement is allowed only from 3 AM to 9AM (no moving on
sunset 3 AM) and all curfew maps and hours apply.
4) *Overheight loads that require a detour caused by the height, may take advantage of
these hours provided that the origin is "a sufficient distance from the detour that
the vehicle/load would arrive at the detour during daylight hours."
To take advantage of these special moving days, the customer must have specific wording to
that effect. Check the permit carefully to asssure legal movement.
